The juiciest Lamb Shanks
The juiciest Lamb Shanks using the cola marinade recipe for ribs that I saw on @sugar_n_ice_by_rae page
I adapted it a little to what I had on hand. Watch the reel here
Cola marinade inspired by Raeesa Carrim
2 tsp crushed garlic
1 tbsp green chilli (in place of Steers peri peri sauce)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper
2-3 tablespoons honey (in place of golden syrup)
1 tbsp bbq sauce (or 1 tsp bbq spice)
250ml Coca Cola
1 tbsp maizena
Mix well. Add 2/3rd to your shanks and let marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
Pressure cook in your @instantpotsa on high for 12 minutes and NPR. (If you don’t have a pressure cooker then cook covered with foil in an oven for 2-3 hours until fork-tender, you may have to add 1 additional cup of water to avoid the meat drying out)
Then remove and place on an oven tray with some garlic butter.
Whisk in 1tblsp maizena to the rest of your marinade and pour it into the leftover broth. Cook down until thick and saucy.
Baste your shanks with the sauce and grill in the oven.
Serve with the remaining sauce and your sides like potatoes, creamy veggies, garden salad etc.
