Khowse recipe from @naqiyah_mayat
This is one of my fav recipes to make, my whole family loves it and as winter rolls around it becomes a staple on our supper table.

Ingredients:
500g chicken, cubed
1 onion, finely sliced
2-3 tblsp ghee
1 tsp red ginger garlic masala
1/2 tsp crushed green chilli
1 tsp dhana jeero or 1/3 tsp coriander powder and 2/3 tsp cumin powder
Salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tblsp tomato paste
1/4 cup water
1 tblsp lemon juice
250ml fresh cream
1 tin coconut cream
Handful of desiccated coconut
Handful of chopped coriander
Condiments when serving:
Boiled spaghetti/noodles
Fried onion
Freshly sliced onion
Chopped coriander
Aamli chutney – optional
Chilli in vinegar – optional
Lemons or limes – quartered
Fried Samoosa pur
Fried garlic slivers – optional
In a saucepan add the ghee and sauté your onion.
Add in the chicken, ginger garlic masala, turmeric, chilli, dhana jeeru and salt to taste. Add a spritz of lemon juice and the tomato paste.
When chicken is almost done, reduce heat and add coconut cream, fresh cream, desiccated coconut and chopped coriander.
Bring to a simmer and then switch off stove.
That’s it!
Assemble by adding pasta/noodles, chicken coconut curry, any of your condiments, lastly top with samoosa pur or fried wonton wrappers, squeeze over some fresh lemon and dig in!
